Special announcements   BT Yahoo! SMTP Security Upgrade - March 2008 As part of ongoing security enhancements to BT Yahoo! email, we have upgraded the security to prevent emails from being sent from client applications (Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird etc) when the "From" email address is not either a BT Yahoo! email address or a validated alternative email address. If you see an error 553 message, you will need to validate the email address from which you wish to send. Step by step instructions can be found at BT Yahoo! Mail Help February 2007 Microsoft is aware of a publicly known exploit in some versions of operating system, antivirus and internet explorer. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of the affected system and perform (DoS) denial of service. Microsoft have released a fix for this vulnerability and advises caution when opening links sent in an email from unknown sources Microsoft continues to advise customers to visit Microsoft Windows Update for newly discovered vulnerabilities and to ensure they have all the latest patches or updates installed.
